Title: Login: Aliases
Post by: xrichx on February 10, 2007, 03:45:28 AM
Hi

i have the roundcube software installed on my hoster all-inkl. He uses usernames like "m00S9d153" as login, and not the e-mail adress. Is there a possibility like squirrelmail has as plugin (http://www.squirrelmail.org/plugin_view.php?id=37) to put a alias into the profile, so the user can use this as the login name?

thx in advance

I second that. It's a very valuable feature!

Problem gelÃÃ,¶st, dank all-inkl Support eine Sache von 2 Minuten :)

in der Datenbank unter users gibts ein Feld "alias"

But this should be possible in the configuration menu of round cube, without writing sql statements... A good feature request to increase the useability for users that are not so proficient...

I'd like to suggest, that after the first login, the user will see the "setting" page with tab "sender". Normally you fill now in your right email address. The part before the @ can than automatically used as the alias. Maybe the user gets a little hint, that putting his/her right email address, the login would some 'easier'.
