Title: External LDAP authentication
Post by: koutrakis on May 12, 2013, 03:43:59 PM
Hello,

i would like to ask you a question about users authentication.
We have an LDAP server which contains all of our users accounts. There are more than 1000. I want to know if Roundcube permits the use of an external LDAP server for end users authentication. If the answer is yes can you please redirect me to the right answer in this forum?

Thank you in advance.

Roundcube is an IMAP client, so you need to make your IMAP server talking to LDAP.

Thank you alec for your reply.

Has someone already configured that? Are there any suggestions on how to get started?

Depends on what you are using for IMAP. Common options for Linux mail servers are Courier, Dovecot, etc.
