Print Page - can't add group

Title: can't add group - error

Hi,
When I try to add a new group it says "An error occured" in red, but nothing is added to the error log.

I'm using 0.8.5

Is it a database issue? Is there a fix I can add to convert or add some tables?
Appreciate any help anyone has.

Make sure the error log is writable there should be an entry.
