Title: Restarted mail server, all user settings were reset!
Post by: terryit3 on November 27, 2013, 10:31:19 AM
I am running a test install of Roundcube 0.8.7.  I had to restart my mail server this morning, and I just got a call that all user accounts settings/preferences were reset back to the default settings.

Does anyone know why this would happen?

Thanks

Prefs and settings are stored in the database, and are tied to the usernames. Did you change the server's hostname, auth method, or something along those lines?

No. I just did a standard restart.

I was able to recover the lost settings, but the method I used makes 0 sense :)

I opened /config/main.inc.php and changed the [mail_domain] variable to 'localhost' from 'xxxxxx.com' and saved it. That changed nothing, so I changed it back to 'xxxxxx.com' and saved it. When I logged back in, my Address Books and Preferences were restored.
