Title: Restrict users from deleting emails and change password
Post by: unhappyghost on January 15, 2014, 05:13:17 AM
Hi Everyone!

Installed iRedMail on Ubuntu Server 12.04LTs and it installed all the necessary packages and user interface is that of RoundCube and its pretty amazing.

One thing that management wants to do is restrict users from deleting any of the emails from their inbox and also restrict users from changing their passwords. It is being done for only this server as most of the inboxes are used by multiple users!

I've also asked help in Dovecot forum and got a suggestion to use ACLs, but we dont have access/permission to the change or modify the Dovecot related services, so I assume it can be tuned on the Roundcube interface!

Any help or suggestion in the right direction will be of great help!

Thank you!

Restricting users from deleting emails should be done on the mail server not in RoundCube. If restrict users from deleting emails in RoundCube users could still delete emails by connecting to the mail server via IMAP. As for not allowing users to change there password, just don't enable the password plugin and then they wont be able to :)
