Since version 1.0.3 Roundcube suddenly needs DOM storage for working perfectly - till version 1.0.2 it was working perfectly without. That is a typical spyware feature because the people are controling their cookies and sometimes blocking the flash cookies.

Also I found that Ropundcube is trying to spy out my private installation (https://www.ghostery.com/en/apps/mixpanel) which is also used on the homepage of roundcube.net.
So I can only expect that the feature for encryption is also only a trial to spy out my secret keys.

REMOVE YOUR FUCKING SPYWARE.
Else I will gibe negative report on every board I find telling the world that you are not trustworthy developers but bloody spies.
May YHWH send all spies and spanners into the hell forever after a painfull life!!!!
Sorry but I'm a bit confused, not really sure how how you made to leap to Roundcube being spyware. Lets me address your points one by one:
1. Roundcube suddenly needs DOM storage
- Roundcube uses DOM storage to save a local copy of draft messages in case of browser crashes, etc. however it isn't a requirement to use Roundcube, where did you get that information?
2. I found Roundcube is trying to spy out my private installation
- Roundcube doesn't include any tracking scripts, Roundcube is fully open source (https://github.com/roundcube/roundcubemail) so please show where there is such a thing. Maybe your server or computer has been compromised which is causing a script to be injected.
3. There is Mixpanel tracking on the homepage of roundcube.net
- First I'm not really sure this should be considered spyware, it seems to be more of an analytics script. Second and more importantly I don't see it on roundcube.net (and yes I'm also using Ghostery, it only shows Github and G+ trackers) Once again I have to ask are you sure this script isn't being injected by something?
OK, Mixpanel is eaten. This was the Spyware of the browser "toolbar" of Avira - a world wide known anti virus solution - I told these fucking assholes my opinion.
But the DOM storage problem still exists. I block since years the DOM storage being only good for backdoor spying - and roundcube was working perfectly till version 1.0.2, also qith Ghostery, Privoxy, Addblock and Fireglove. But now I cannot more use all menus (like marking as read or compressing the boxes).
At last: "Analytics" is just an euphemism for spyware - or for what do you need these "analytics" if not for spying out potential victims of your consum terror campaigns???

That should not happen if you block DOM storage, is there any errors in the JS console or Roundcube error log? Are you using and Roundcube plugins?

I think its a matter of intent. Analytics are very useful for making decisions about what devices to support, and how people use a site or application. Of course there are a number of uses of analytics that are not so friendly such as the tracking advertisers do, so I can total understand blocking such scripts.
Am I not correct that disabling DOM storage globally is an option in the upcoming version 1.1? The 1.1-beta has that option, and it appears to work.
Yes it is an option for 1.1.x http://trac.roundcube.net/ticket/1489979 but not in 1.0.x. Even so I don't think the whole UI should be broken if its disabled in the browser.
