Hi there I looked through the older posting and only found something about advanced_search (that could do the trick), but it's not a myroundcube plugin. Is there any reason why this IMHO essential function is not there or why it is not implemented or am I missing the point.

It is a built-in function in Roundcube 1.1 - to be released very soon.

I just upgraded to 1.1.2 and it still not working.
Is there any specific setting to set to allow global search on all folder ?

Searching all folders is built in to 1.1.
If you click on the magnifying glass icon at the left hand end of the search box which is to the top right of the message list then you get a list with the parts of the message to search: Subject, From etc and a section at the bottom labeled Scope with Current folder, This and subfolders, All folders.
If you do not see the Scope section then check that when you updated to 1.1 you correctly updated your skin files. Note: If you are using a custom skin it is possible the author has not added these new options and you'll have to wait for them to do that.
