How do you empty the trash folder?
In the footer of the folder list on the left hand side of the email screen there is a folder actions menu. It depends a little on the skin, in both the Classic and Larry skins this is represented by a gear icon. When you are in the Trash folder the "empty" option is available in that menu. The same options are also available on the folder management screens in the settings section.
