Title: Help me Install the Roundcube Mail Client.
Post by: Saurabhdua on March 23, 2016, 01:50:02 AM
Hello There! Iam amused to find a tar.bz file downloading for the purpose of Windows Installation.I have downloaded the Latest Version 1.1.4 of size worth 4.37MB. Upon making an Unzip & extracting the contents to a Local folder, Iam not able to trace the Installer file!? Therefore, Please help me install the Roundcube Web Mail client. I shall be extremely grateful.

I'm not sure where you getting idea there is a Windows installer. Roundcube is a webmail client and is designed to be setup on a web server not installed as a desktop application.

Thank you both!

If Roundcube is not a usual email Client similar to say--Thunderbird...then why do most of the Software Download Sites are listing the same under the same Compilation? Please help TWEAK the Introductory Note on Roundcube to dispel the Misconceptions of the Novice Users like us!

Most of the Software Download Sites Copy the Introductory Note from the Original Source cum reference only, & therefore, Roundcube must put an active(rather flashing) "Disclaimer" to set the perceptions right in this regard!

Hope to see the desired changes on the Introductory Page of Roundcube ASAP. Thank you.

That would be a question for the "Software Download Sites", It doesn't sound like they would have a reason to link to Roundcube in the first place.

Dear Sir,

Thanks for the Clarification! But that's how I got deceived into Downloading & looking for ways into installing the same. I thought it would be that easy to simply punch in the email ID, & the Roundcube will round-and-round looking for the applicable IMAP or POP & SMTP Addresses, I will punch in the Username & Password to furnish all is Set!... at the end! :-)

Thanks for your time & Goodbye!

Sir...Sir...One last thing... Please do put a "Disclaimer" on the Introductory note of the Product Description --that we are not for Dummies,or for the ones who have lost in the lure of finding an equivalent Thunderbird match! Many will be able to deceive the pitfall by this gesture! Thanks :-)

I don't think disclaimer is needed, the site that is linking to Roundcube is the one that has incorrect information while the Roundcube site makes no mention of being a Windows application. If you where looking for a webmail client which is what Roundcube is and says it is on the site you would get what you expect.
