I am frustrated, to say the least. I have made a Moodle installation (online learning app) for students to use to study, but they must have an email account to enable lost password recovery. I am teaching in China now, and the recent latest, greatest social media has no email included. It uses mobile (cell) phones for authentication. I want to set up an email system on my server that will let them recover their password for Moodle if they lose it...but what happens if they lose their password for their email? Is there any way to set up Roundcube so that it will use a mobile phone for lost password recovery? I don't want to invest the time only to find out that I have entered a vicious cycle.
Roundcube doesn't have a built in forgot password system since Roundcube authenticates with the mail server. So you would need a forgot password system for your mail server.
It seems to me that if you have to develop something to reset there password with there mobile phone you should just build that to reset there moodle password.
