[email protected]subject, topic: good advisor before I start
I have VPS running debian 11 (Bullseye). If needed, other operating system can be installed. I would like to install roundcube (probably from debian package) onto this, to send and receive all my emails. Is this a good idea, will it work? I hear that some things need to be done before installing roundcube. I could insert paragraphs here listing things I am not experienced with, and asking technical questions. I would like to find a good advisor before I start. Anyone willing to help? I could try these Complete email server packages with Roundcube: Kolab Groupware, iRedMail, Mail-in-a-Box, mailcow. They might make some things a little easier.
Roundcube its just web-based mail client like outlook, thunderbird and etc.
So you must install your own mail server (services postfix, dovecot, nginx) before you can use Roundcube to access it.
Postfix - is mail transport service
Dovecot - its IMAP service, who let your client see their mailboxes
Nginx - www server
As I know (but i not use its) iredmail, kolab - is fullstack packages - full mail servers with web based clients and all services.
That will take too much time, I will work on it later. The email host I use will expire end of January 2023, in one week. Can you recommend a commercial roundcube email host? I can pay with debit card. This seems to be a problem, some places require credit card. Email migration from MS outlook would be nice but not necessary. My domain name should be transferred within one year.
Your situation not easy.
I can't recommended, but may be this link can help you https://roundcubeplus.com/pricing
