I have a linux web server, with phpmyadmin and mariadb. I want to add roundcube mail, and went through the installation part on my server.
I now am trying to finish my configuration, on http://<domain name>/webmail/installer/index.php?_step=3, but am unable to due to SQLSTATE[HY000] [1044] that stops my from initializing the database.
I went over my config files, and nothing seemed wrong there, I also recreated the roundcube phpmyadmin user, but that did nothing.

Can you login to phpmyadmin using the creds you created for Roundcube? May be you need to flush the privileges or something like that. Did you give the user access to the database?
