Title: Page title.
Post by: bigdog988 on January 22, 2009, 10:13:12 AM
Ive read through some post regarding the title of that page.

It said to change to title of the log in screen find the section $rcmail_config['product_name'] =.

I've edited that entry to a custom product name but when I try to get to the login page it doesn't load. If I change it back to the default then it loads. Any idea why editing this would cause that?

If you mean by "it does not load" that you get a blank screen, most likely you have a syntax error in the edited code. Could you post your edited code?

$rcmail_config['product_name'] = 'PoP'd CoRn WebMail';
That would have caused a syntax error. You have to escape the ' inside the string becaused it is also used for delimiting.
$rcmail_config['product_name'] = 'PoP\'d CoRn WebMail';
Is how it should look.

okay so i have another one. in the section $rcmail_config['des_key'] =

there is the default key. can i change that so it uses a different encryption key instead of the default. e.g. replace it with any random 24 chars

You can. Just keep in mind that the ' - character ends a string. If you use 24 alpha-numeric characters (upper and lower case) and special characters like !.,=+!#$%^*(){}[], you can create your own key

From the main.inc.php:
// the mail host chosen to perform the log-in
// leave blank to show a textbox at login

You should add your host there (if you do not want to enter it everytime you log in).

okay that seemed to do it. I wonder if I edited the wrong main.inc.php file. I have two folders one that i have edited for the server and one that I didnt edit for a back up. i must have edited the clean one, thats why it didnt have localhost and some others settings.

Thanks to everyone that help!
