Hi,
When i delete a mail in inbox, it stays in inbox marked for deletion, a copy of the mail is send to Trash, if i empty trash, the message that are marked for delation, still stays in inbox and i need to click "compact" link to remove them.
How do i make deleted message move to Trash, not a copy of the message.
Thanks,
Yujin
I don't know if it's the same situation.
For me, when I click delete (one or multiples) a copy of those messages is sent to the trash and those messages also stay in the inbox. I get an error message at the top saying that there was an error or something. When I select and click delete again, it usually works then.
It usually takes two tries to delete any message. I don't care so much about the duplication in the trash folder, but the fact that it takes multiple tries to delete any message is *really annoying*.
right now, it's the one major bug I've noticed. Everything else, well, they are just quirks :)
Check the following settings in ./config/main.inc.php:
// display these folders separately in the mailbox list.
// these folders will also be displayed with localized names
$rcmail_config['default_imap_folders'] = array('INBOX', 'Drafts', 'Sent', 'Junk', 'Trash');
// automatically create the above listed default folders on login
$rcmail_config['create_default_folders'] = TRUE;
// protect the default folders from renames, deletes, and subscription changes
$rcmail_config['protect_default_folders'] = TRUE;
// Set TRUE if deleted messages should not be displayed
// This will make the application run slower
$rcmail_config['skip_deleted'] = FALSE;
// Set true to Mark deleted messages as read as well as deleted
// False means that a message's read status is not affected by marking it as deleted
$rcmail_config['read_when_deleted'] = TRUE;
// When a Trash folder is not present and a message is deleted, flag
// the message for deletion rather than deleting it immediately. Setting this to
// false causes deleted messages to be permanantly removed if there is no Trash folder
$rcmail_config['flag_for_deletion'] = FALSE;
Please notice that these settings can be overriden by user preferences on a per user level. So, also check server settings in preferences section.
This answer did not appear to answer bizhat's question, and my question is the same.
However, I made the change to 'flag_for_deletion' = false, and that did change the behavior to what I was looking for.
I'm just wondering what impact it has on the user personal settings, because they are different than this but this seems to take precedence.
Thanks.
Mike
