What about expanding the adressbook functionality with the option to sync with a Funambol DM server using the SyncML protocol ?

We (ISP with 1000+ webmail users, currently using squirrelmail) are planning to use Roundcube as the webmail client for our customers. At the end of 2006 we are planning to deliver Push E-mail (using IMAP_IDLE) to our clients.

The next feature we want to give our customers is Addressbook synchronisation. Customers can sync their addressbook from their mobile phone, using SyncML (Funambol) to a centralized Addresbook server. I am willing to develop such a plug in that enables Roundcube to do SyncML synchronisation. How about it ?

I want to add this feature for my customers too.

Hi,

im also interested in SyncML support for roundcube. I got some basic php skills, but not enough to do the job alone, so maybe we can join and develop a plugin for that. I will take a look at the API after posting this.

me again..

after some research it looks like the roundcube part will not be the big problem since the api offers Hooks for Addressbook tasks. (http://trac.roundcube.net/wiki/Plugin_Hooks#Taskaddressbook)

Biggest problem seems to be that there is not really a php library for syncml-client (http://www.k-fish.de/SyncML-support.57.0.html) out there..
