i am working on some tweaks to the standard theme and have inserted the menu with inbox, drafts, etc. as a navigation.
if an email is sent when i am in "compose" mode when it updates the inbox count number it also wipes my screen of what i am working on.
what might be causing this? what can i do to get around this?
I not sure what your problem is, are you talking about the compose mail screen disappearing when you hit send?
i've included two screenshots to help explain the issue better.
the first one shows the new theme i've been working on for roundcube on my servers. it is in the "compose mode" as though i am in the process of writing an email.

if, while i am in this state someone writes an email to me, the screen will go blank, erasing anything i've typed and leaving me with nothing visible (as can be seen by the second screenshot).

what might be causing this? i am simply at a loss to explain/solve it.

I believe your problem is occurring because of the mailbox list, try removing it and see if the problem goes away.
