Title: Move emails from cPanel Round Cube install
Post by: tye on September 04, 2011, 11:35:52 PM
Hi

I have around 2000 emails on a cpanel install of Round Cube.

The backup function is broken in Cpanel - so I cannot move my email alias's across that way.

They only way I can see to export the emails is one at a time to .eml format :(

Is there a way to:

1) Export all exports, or all folders?
2) Forward all the emails to another address
3) Any easier way to move all these emails onto the new server?

Thanks

The messages don't live in roundcube, they live on the email (IMAP) server that roundcube connects to. No need to move messages if you are planning to connect to the same IMAP server.

In a standard cPanel setup the mail is stored in /home//mail. If your moving to another hosting provider with cPanel ask the new host if they will do the transfer, most of them will.

Hey skaero - that is the problem... the mail directories are unavailable when my new host is doing the transfer - and the old host is... unresponsive :(

If the emails aren't there you could try the zip download plugin https://github.com/JohnDoh/Roundcube-Plugin-Zip-Download/ and then use the import message plugin https://github.com/JohnDoh/Roundcube-Plugin-Import-Messages to get them on the new server, you would need to have your own install of RoundCube to use the plugins.
