Title: Setting Identity Display Name on IMAP user creation
Post by: cam815 on September 08, 2011, 04:13:14 PM
When an IMAP user logs into our RoundCube site for the first time, it uses the username they logged in with as their default Identity Display Name instead of their actual IMAP display name.

e.g.

If I log in with john.smith, my default identity display name is also john.smith instead of John Smith. Is there a variable I can set to say that the LDAP 'cn' field is what should be used instead of the username?

I struggled with the LDAP plugins in an attempt to do this several versions ago. I do not know how well the LDAP plugins are working now. Instead, I use the new_user_dialog plugin which prompts a new user to set their own Display name. The dialog pops up on first login only. This has been working well for my organization.

Awesome. Turned on the plugin and that certainly works. Thanks!
