Title: can I use GMAIL STMP server to send email via roundcube ?
Post by: proenca on January 29, 2012, 06:20:39 AM
Hi there,

I want to setup roundcube but I cant figure out one thing : I got a IMAP Server that works a jolly but its on a dinamic ip server, so the emails sent from that server, will usually come back due to other servers anti spam.

So what I've done is ( its only a 15 email people ) created 1 gmail per account and we use gmail SMTP servers to send email masking the domain. Works like a charm on mail / iphones / ipads / outlook, etc.

But webmail sucks - because I can't configure that in the webmail, the webmail always presumes that I have a valid local smtp server.

Is it possible to configure roundcube this way ?

Yes just set the $rcmail_config['smtp_server'], $rcmail_config['smtp_port'], $rcmail_config['smtp_user'], and $rcmail_config['smtp_pass'] in /config/main.inc.php
