Integrating rc in a php app

Well it has mentioned before as "how long does it take" , but how do I integrate rc in a php app?
We ve coded an webmailer already, but the multiple file stuff and attachment thingi is really complicated,
we passed on this...but rc really does the job there.

I like to skip the whole rc login and use my useraccounts instead.
Which files hold the connections?

And considering security issues, is such a single-sign-on to risky? Even the big names(yahoo etc) cant do it...
How stable is rc? We use ist for many years now  , and I dont noticed any hacks over my rc-webmailer...

Would appreciate some hint or help.
