First image displays then others timeout

When I try to open a message with multiple image attachments the first image always comes up very quickly, then the second one will take a few seconds, and the third will time out. After timing out you can right-click on the image and select show image and it comes up right away.

While the images are loading the processor load just builds and builds until it hits almost 100% and then it stays there until the timeout.

This is Version 0.1-beta2 and Version 0.1-rc1  I've tried both.
I'm running on FreeBSD 6.2 With AMD Opteron 146 2.0 Ghz and a Gig of RAM

Any one know anything about this? Any helps or fixes?
