Images don't show up in a received email

When I send an email to myself from an email app on my laptop then login to Roundcube, the image I sent doesn't come through. All I get is a little box.

In settings Preferences > Displaying Messages I have Display remote inline images set to Always.
Display attached images below the message - Checked.

I don't understand why no images ever come through.
