Messages not marked as read in 1.3.0

Just upgraded to 1.3.0 and have noticed that messages are not marked as read after reading them.

Details:

• Larry skin
• Two-column view
• Messages open in same window on double-click
• "Mark previewed messages as read" set to never

If I open a message, read it and then return to the mailbox, the message is still marked as unread.

Changing the "Mark previewed messages as read" option to immediately resolves the issue but this then obviously means I cannot use the preview feature without messages being marked as read.

This was working perfectly fine in 1.2.x.

Is this a bug or have I missed a new setting (I have tried looking for one)?

Sad to see a deliberate change being made to the product to make it less useful. :-(
