Spellchecking issues

I am having a problem with spellchecking and an empty "suggestions" box, as well as a general problem with Firefox spellchecking.

Problem 1 scenario, using MSIE 6:
- Click Create Message icon
- Do some typing for the new message with some mis-spellings
- Click "Check Spelling" (changes to spellchecker mode, highlights errors in red/linked)
- Click on a misspelled word (red, linked)
Problem: Suggestions drop down is always empty

Workaround after above:
- Click "Resume Editing"
- Click "Check Spelling"
- Works fine! (works fine every time after the first cycle).

Problem 2 scenario, Using Firefox 1.5:
- Type a new message with obvious errors
- Click "Check Spelling"
Problem:: displays "No spelling errors found" then returns to editing mode with no pause

Are these known issues?
