Signatures with images problem

Outside of the problem with IE not even seeing the signatures, which I hope will be corrected in R0.2;

When I include an image in a signature, the system wants to refer to it in relative terms, when it need to be in absolute. Obviously, the recipient of the email cant reference the image unless it has an http:// or similar URL to tell it where to look.
How do I stop webmail truncating the URL?
