Newbie: Fresh install! Where do I go from here?

Hello!

I just completed installing roundcube in my Ubuntu box.  I also added the MySQL tables to my database.  I am successfully getting the log in dialog but I cannot log in at all ...

I am trying to fully understand the relation between SMTP server, roundcube PHP server (host), MySQL database -

What am I looking for and how are they to match? 
If I wanted to edit configuration, where are the configuration files I would need to edit?
Is log in credential based on SMTP server or MySQL?

If I get pointed in the right direction for above, I'm sure to get my page cranking and come back with better questions in a couple of days!  ;-)

Your missing the most important part, the IMAP server. You need to create mail accounts on an IMAP server and then point Roundcube to that IMAP server before you can login.
