Implement/enable SASL(steps) in Roundcube

Hi,
      I am using Roundcube email client opensource for my email. The client can communicate my server through SASL. Now I want to implement SASL / enable SASL(If already implemented) in Roundcube and also add a new SASL mechanism(like Login, Plain) in Roundcube. How can I implement/enable the SASL in Roundcube and also add new SASL mechanism.
