Help Modifying Roundcube

Can anyone give me some pointers in modifying roundcube? I find it a bit confusing to follow the code what I would love is a real basic example of how you create a new main task which perhaps is to a new page with form input (i could work it out from there!)

I always seem to break roundcube whenever I start playing with it!
