Cannot Send Emails

I can login fine to my webmail installation and the database is set up great.

I can receive emails into the mailbox and it shows in roundcube, but i cannot send any messages. Have i missed something in the installation?

I'm running php5 and mysql5

Are you sure your SMTP server works properly?

did you set it up correctly in roundcube's configuration?

I had this problem too--even wiped out my old and started fresh. No identity was shown in the drop-down box, either.
