Certificate log-in?

Did some searching, found some old stuff...

Is is possible to log in with a client certificate with the latest RC?
And if so, how can this be done?

there is this old plugin http://git.cacert.org/gitweb/?p=cacert-rccrtauth.git it doesnt look like its still being maintained but perhaps it will point you in the right direction
