googie spell checker problem

I get the following errors repeatedly in the errors log:

PHP Warning:  fsockopen(): unable to connect to ssl://spell.roundcube.net:443 (Connection timed out) in /var/www/html/roundcube/program/lib/Roundcube/rcube_spellcheck_googie.php on line 87

The resolution I have found researching the internet is to ensure the OPENSSL and SOCKETS php modules are enabled.  I checked and they are enabled.  How do I fix this?

Don't use spell.roundcube.net, install and configure pspell or enchant.
