is framework necessary for installation

I just noticed framework 1.1.4 on the downloads page.  I have not used that during my installation of roundcube.  I can't find any instructions on what to do with it.  Are we supposed to download and use the framework in some way during an installation?  If so, what do we do with it?

No the full Roundcube package includes the Roundcube framework. The framework is available separately in case you want to use Roundcube IMAP and Mail libraries  in your own project.
