Do any of the plugins actually work?

I downloaded the bundle of plugins that include google_contacts and calendar. With each install attempt I get messages when trying to install the SQL tables that there are errors  in the SQL. After changing the config file extension and adding the SQL tables - I get no contacts for the google contact plugin and a calendar with 'dummy' entries and no way to edit it. I also tried installing the Roundcube (jQuery) Calendar and that just gets stuck 'loading'.

Seriously frustrating.

None of the plugins seem to work and/or the installation instructions are incomplete or poorly written.

It's possible I'm going about the install wrong. Is this a common experience? Is trying to make the plugins work a waste of time, or should I keep trying to figure out what I'm possibly not doing right?

I currently have about a dozen plugins in our production instance, although the ones you mentioned are not in mine.

The problem is probably that plugins can be rather version specific. You need to make certain that the plugins you are trying to use are comppatible version with your RC version. If the plugins were built for an earlier or later version of RC than you use, they probably won't work.

I really don't think that's the problem. I have the lastest version of Roundcube installed. In fact I deleted the old version & database and did a new install. I also downloaded the newest version of the plugins - which were uploaded only 6 days ago.

I've been having a very hard time finding clear installation instructions. What I've found say things like 'run the SQL'. Maybe that makes sense to some people, but I have no idea how to 'run' the SQL. I did import the files with myPhpAdmin and the tables are there, but still can't get the plugins to work. Too bad too, the calendar *looks* nice, but that's all I can do - look at it.

Did you install jqueryui plugin? There are installation instructions on top of calendar.php. Also check Mail4us.net - MyRoundcube Plugins Generic Installation Guide.
