Messages are not displayed

I do have about 1567 email in my inbox with dovecot 2.0.2. While scrolling at the end of all messages it happended that instead of 40 messages just a couple will be displayed. Even if I scroll further I cannot see 40 messages.

Any ideas?

do you mean it shows 40 messages per page until the last page when it shows 7?

No, when I go back one page is shows message 1240 - 1280 but just  2 message are displayed.

may be turn on imap_debug in your rc config and check the log to make sure the server is returning all the messages as expected.

Thanks. I now figured out, there are still mail in the user directory in maildir format while I am using dbox since a while. I am looking now to convert these maildir in dbox format.

Just another question: Any idea why normal user cannot add a sieve ruleset? Neither the plus sign nor the option to switch to the advance editor are there for other users. It is just working fine for my account.

All problems were solved. The display issue was aktually a dovecot issue and changing to the default template allows adding rules again.
