I value any ideas you may have:
1. I need to make the default font larger.  How?

2. When you highlight and select an email then read it... upon return, the highlight bar is missing.  Do you know why?

3. When you reply to an email, the NEW text is always placed at the bottom of the window with the OLD text above it.  I want to reverse this???

4. When I want to read a piece of email, I just want to single click on it.  Is that possible?

5. Can I just make the cursor a large bliking block???

1. You can edit the css.
2. Not sure what you mean.
3. Go to Settings->Composing Messages and change "When replying" to "start new message above original".
4. Maybe, but you would have to do that on your browser or OS.

By this I mean:
1. you have a list of entries in your "IN" box.
2. You highlight entry number 3 then hit ENTER to select it.
3. read you message
4. Click the green arrow ("back to Message List")
5. Back on your message list, there is no highlight bar so you cannot determine where you were before you made your selection.

As far as I know it wasn't designed to do that, a plugin could most likely be made to do that.

I think it would be a nice CORE feature. Please release a feature request at trac (Roundcube Webmail).
