hi. apologies if this has already been raised recently. i've been using rc for what must be a number of years now and it's never refreshed the inbox when new mail is received. clicking on the "check for new messages" button doesn't do anything either. i get the update to the window/tab header that indicates there is a new mail but i have to go to a different folder and then go back to the inbox to see the new mails. i'm using rc to front end gmail imap. i don't use any other email clients to access the mailbox. i don't have caching enabled. i can find similar questions having been raised a few years ago but the answer always seemed to be related to caching. does anyone know if this is :
1. a bug in the code
2. an incompatibility with imap
3. an incompatibility with gmail
4. something else

thanks.

1. Maybe
2. No
3. No
4. Maybe

Check RoundCube error log and try running RoundCube without any plugins. Also try it in a different browser its most likely a javascript problem.

hi. thanks for the response. there is nothing in the errors log although this hasn't been written to for ages, i've even set the debug_level to trace and nothing is being written, all the other debug logs exist and are being written to successfully. i've tried both firefox and chrome (both on linux) and neither of them refresh the inbox. i've also disabled all the plugins but this has made no difference.

Does it work for local accounts (i.e. not gmail accounts)?

my implementation is only configured to work with gmail, but i've just amended it temporarily to test against a different non gmail imap account and for this account the inbox refreshed automatically as soon as the mail turned up.

for info, inbox refresh is still not working with gmail having upgraded rc to 0.6.
