i have a feeling this is a really stupid question but, here goes ... is there any way to automatically sync (either directly or indirectly) the rc address book with an android smartphone ? is the answer gonna be "use ldap instead" ?

Quote from: skaero;37439You could use Gmail contacts.

Here is the appropiate plugin: "Sync your contacts with your Google Addressbook by deltatech" (http://www.roundcubeforum.net/7-third-party-contributions/46-api-based-plugins/4830-plugin-repositories.html)

hi. yeah, this is what i am currently doing. i'm trying to move away from using google services (which i know may sound odd when i'm talking about syncing with an android device).

Then probably you best solution is to use ldap, if you don't want to host it yourself there companies that offer ldap contact hosting.

I'm all so looking to setup LDAP, i have installed openLDAP server on ubuntu but don't know how to get it to work with roundcube. Any help our maybe do you know where i could get some working examples so i can try and set it up?

I'm not a LDAP expert so I wont be of much help, there is an example ldap config in the main.inc.php that you can look for a reference.
