New Update Layout

I have just been automatically changed to the new updated layout, last night.
I hate it.
I do not what my list on the left and the viewing pane open on the right, and permanently.
I always removed the viewing pane, as it is a distraction and takes up too much space on my screen, i prefer just a list only.
Will the option to select the views be brought back, so I can get ride of the very annoying right hand open pane of the emails? Or is there another way to select this, as in previous versions?
