0.8.4 incompatible with IE8?

Many users have complained that RC does not work anymore with IE8. I have tested, and noticed that when double-clicking on a message results in a blank screen. Is there a workaround?

Alec, I haven't heard any complaints on this, but should I remove the line mentioned in Ticket 1488839 from mail.css in my production 0.8.4?

I see it is fixed indeed. However, would it be too much to ask what exactly is the fix for THIS issue I mentioned in the first place? It is not very easy to customize the fixed CSS again. Besides that I would just like to know what can cause this.

I couldn't find this line at all...that's strange. div.hide-headers contains only:
