Address book import in CSV - email address not imported
« on: June 07, 2014, 03:35:09 AM »
Hello, on my email account on webmail.online.net, I tried to import my address book via a csv file.
I found this model of csv file http://trac.roundcube.net/attachment/ticket/1489462/example.csv
I tried several time to import the csv file. Each time, the contact were imported without the email address (most important field)
here is my csv file for my tests :
First Name,Last Name,Company,Department,Job Title,Home Street,Home City,Home Postal Code,Home Country,Home Phone,Mobile Phone,E-mail Address,E-mail Type,Gender,Notes,Web Page
John,Smith,atout vents,Member,Trombone,3 rue st nicolas,Chartres,28000,France,0234567890,0677788899,name@provider.net,home,male,musician,www.atoutvents.net

All these informations were imported but not the email address.

what should I do, where is the mistake in my csv file ?
Does exist a complete manual for the creation of the csv file ?

thanks in advance for your help.

@FabVas, I copied these two lines to a file and imported it with success. What version are you using?

There was a fix in 1.0.1 that might be what you need - http://trac.roundcube.net/ticket/1489830

As a workaround you might try "Primary Email" label instead "E-mail Address".

I just saw something strange :
As you said that the email is imported using my file, even if I do not see any email address by editing the contact, I tried to create an email to thi contact and I saw this in the filed to : John Smith <name@provider.net>,
This means that the email has been recorded even if not editable. (no email viewable in home, work and other email)
I tries to add an email to this contact manually and the new email take the place of the imported one.

This is very strange but at the end I will be able the import my address book even if this is not perfect.

primary email works well and the address looks like other. (not a problem for my use)

how can I update the version ? Is it possible ?
