IMAP timing out while testing config

Hello everyone. I have just installed Roundcube on a system seperate from the e-mail server. We are running WinGate 6.2.2 which does support IMAP. It works fine while using e-mail clients such as Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.

Right now I am stuck in the process of testing the configs. The SMTP test goes through just fine but the IMAP test times out after 30 seconds. The other problem is that logs aren't being created so I can't see the reason it won't connect other than a the timeout issue.

Please lead me in the right direction!

Also forgot to mention that this is the latest stable version I have installed.

Sorry I forgot to mention that this is on a Windows system with Apache, PHP, MySQL 5.x

How would I check permissions for the specified folders?

Still haven't been able to make any progress.

I did try connecting it to one of my Google accounts without success as well.

What kind of authentication method does Roundcube's IMAP protocoll use? Is there a way to modify it?

Could it be something in the IMAP.inc file?

Update!!!:

Using https://ssl.ilohamail.org/devdemo/index.php (Ilohamail libraries are used by Roundcube) I am able to login! I can get to all folders EXCEPT my Inbox. Items display appropriately and I can even send out mail. So now I have narrowed the problem down even further.

lancey helped me get it fixed in IRC.

What it had to do was my IMAP server's authentication method. I fiddled with some settings and got it up and running.

Works beautifully.
