disable rewriting sender domain
« on: March 14, 2023, 06:34:08 PM »
Hi team,

I have two different servers (1) and (2) with RoundCube + Exim4 + External SmartHost. Both work fine in general. One of them rewrites the sender domain, but only for some domains.

I have my own three domains used in sender identities: own_example1.org, own_example2.org, and own_example3.org.
Also, I use several free emails in sender identities: gmail.com, other_free_example4.com.

Server (1) sends all emails without changes.
Server (2) sends emails from own_example1.org, gmail.com, and other_free_example4.com without changes, but it rewrites sender domains from own_example2.org and own_example3.org to own_example1.org.

As far as I can see, it can't be a roundcube issue because I can see the sender's domain in /var/log/exim4/mainlog.
It also doesn't look like the external smarthost changes anything, because both servers (1) and (2) use the same external smarthost, and I don't see this behavior on (1) but only on (2).

So, my concern is about Exim4 in (2).
Any ideas, please? This is a mystery for me; I'd like to have any ideas to dig further. It is not too critical, because both servers can be used for sending; it is just that (1) is a bit slow.

Please advise.
