Upgrading Roundcube version 1.4.9 to 1.6.5
« on: January 18, 2024, 10:46:54 AM »
Hello,
My company currently has Roundcube 1.4.9 installed on our Ubuntu 18.4LTS server and we just found out we are required to upgrade Roundcube to 1.65 so DUO Security multi-authentication works for Duo Security Universal prompts. I am very new to Roundcube as most of my experience is Outlook and Exchange servers and I only been with my company for 7 months, so this is my first time having to upgrade Roundcube on a mail server.

What are the features differences between version 1.4.9 and 1.65 in Roundcube?

What are the steps in upgrading from one version of Roundcube to another? We also currently have MySQL version 5.7 installed on our mail server? Would I need to upgrade MySQL as well? From what I read online about upgrading Roundcube it mentions installing mysql but we already have mysql installed and it also mentions online on other websites that we have to create a database and migrate everything over, but again a database is already created from the current Roundcube we have on our mail server.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Lindsay

Its not hard to update Roundcube, just read the upgrade instructions: https://github.com/roundcube/roundcubemail/blob/1.6.5/UPGRADING and make sure your server meets the requirements shown in the install file: https://github.com/roundcube/roundcubemail/blob/1.6.5/INSTALL
