How do you set it so it does not appear at the bottom of the received message?

I always type my responses at the top of the received message and the signature wants to appear at the bottom of the received message.

I always want my messages to appear newest(at top) to oldest below.

Can this be done?

I've done what Julius Ceasar suggested - several times... it still doesn't show up when I try to compose an email. Help! This is getting very frustrating...

I guess when you starting reading a book you start with the last chapter and backward ;)

Check out this thread: http://www.roundcubeforum.net/requests/598-signature-above-quoted-text-reply.html

But my personal opinion: DON'T, just create messages top > down

Please forgive my forwardness, but that logically makes no sense...

We are talking about an email... NOT a book. That is just silly.

No one wants to re-read the email they just wrote and I can not imagine anyone wanting to scroll down past the text THEY wrote and already read. Why would they want to do that all over again, over and over, for as long as the correspondence carries on?

I have not come across any other mail client that does this. It just does not make sense.

The only reason you even have the past conversations remain there is for reference. So if you need to remember something that has already been said, you can scroll down and read the past.

Regardless, thank you for the link. It should solve my problem, and I agree what most say in that post... it seems to be a matter of preference.

Then tell me what's the use of continuously sending emails around which no-one ever reads again?

That just my point: Remove the latter and reply to the questions asked. Add you reply under the question and end with your signature under the mail.

Maybe I'm too old, but in the old FIDO days all the clients started the reply under the quoted text. In the early days of the internet clients like mutt, pine and eudora did the same. It's just that those amateurs from Redmond think that they know best and poisoned emailing with Outlook and Outlook Express which introduced top replying. Later other clients introduced this as well, because people where used to this.

Normal clients like Thunderbird, Evolution, Groupwise and Eudora (which is now Thunderbird by the way) still have the option to reply under the quoted text.

BS! People just add something, they never scroll down to read it. They only start whining when their mailbox is full. For reference you look at previous send or received emails in your mailbox.

To give you an idea: I still almost have my email (send and received) from 1998 till now. And because I mail in plain-text the size of an email is also about 85% smaller.

Your welcome. But if I receive an email from you and I have to send you a reply, don't be surprised when most of the original message is gone and you will just see the questions and answers, just like this post: A reply under each item.

Julius Cesar - do you have any additional feedback for my signature block issue? I'm really not understanding why it's not showing up...

Should I select both HTML and Set Default before saving signature? I've tried this and it doesn't work. I've also tried saving it as HTML only (and set Default only). Neither of these options work, as well.

Have you tried to add a new identity, with the same email address and a signature and make that one default?
