Installation Problem
« on: November 20, 2006, 01:03:46 PM »
I have just installed roundcube and my question is this....
In the instructions it talks about different directories:
i.e.:
the "/config/" directory of Roundcube."
   "the "/SQL/" directory in Roundcube"
I am confused because the file i downloaded had all of the roundcube files
dumped into one folder. Do i need to make these directories on my we server?

Yes. You must use WinRar to extract the files. Otherwise everything will end up in 1 folder.....dunno exactly the explanation but just use WinRar.

If you need WinRar, you may download it directly from this link: http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar361.exe

Ok, so i have opened the files and uncompressed them.
I have installed the round cube folder to a directory on my ftp server.
I have installed it to a directory called: www/roundcube
I have modified both "main.inc.php.dist" and "db.inc.php.dist". and renamed them.
I have gone into myphp and imported the following mysql file: mysql.initial.sql
It then ran the script(s) and i now have a database that is active called mail.
I am just wondering where I go to get to the round cube login page?
I cannot find it. I have tried http://www.domain.com/roundcube
I used an imap.domain.com when setting up. Should i have used pop.domain.com
also i used ssl, is that needed?

Please help, i really want this software to work, but i cannot get it to load for me.

thanks

Your web server needs to know where roundcube is installed. The easiest thing to do is RC in your document root.

edit: try http://yourdoamin.com/www/roundcube

since roundcube is installed under www
