Selecting multiple recipients from contact list

How do you select multiple recipients from your contact list to send an email to. It appears that you only have the option to select one. If this isn't possible to do now, is this something that I should request as a mod? Maybe a check box next to each contact so you can select multiple recipients from the contact list.
