Kolab Calendar API

I am working on a plugin that puts a small calendar inside mail section of RoundCube. What I would like to do next is to have some basic interaction between this small calendar and Kolab's calendar plugin. For example if user clicks a date in my calendar i'd like to switch task to calendar and have the clicked date selected, also i would like to indicate dates with events planned using bold style or something similar. Does Kolab calendar expose some kind of api and can you give me some advice on this? Thank you.
