mysql_query failed, reconnecting: Table 'mysql.passwd' doesn't exist

Hi,

I have done a new install of Gentoo server but I keep getting the above message when I try to login.

The user can login to a terminal ok, and also to an ssh session ok.

When I look in the mysql database there is no passwd table.

What parrameters would I use to create this table so I can get auth working.

(I am new to using mysql)
