PHP Execution

I'm using Roundcube, but have an issue.

Here is my environment:

MAC OS X Yosemite 10.10.5,
Safari Version 8.0.8
php   Version  5.5.31

When attempting to execute html-php files, instead of getting php output,
I am getting a listing of the php code.

Am I forgetting to set up setup something?

Anyone have any suggestions on a course of action?
