How to delete a contact

 need to delete some contacts from my list, but there is no trash can icon or any delete button in the individual contact file.  Is there a way to do that?  I have version 1.3.8

Assuming you are using the Larry skin, on the contacts screen, in the centre column which lists all your contacts look at the footer of that list and you should see icons for add and delete.

Changed the skin to Larry, and sure enough!  Thank you SO much!

In the Classic skin the option is on the toolbar above the contacts list, its the red circle with the line through it.
